Rooted in Eastern philosophy, Pavilion of Absence embodies the concept of “void” (空) as a space for stillness and renewal. In contrast to the dense rhythms of urban life, this meditation capsule offers an ephemeral retreat—an architecture of presence through absence. It reflects the Daoist notion of emptiness as potential, where silence and space invite contemplation.

Designed parametrically in Grasshopper and Rhino, its flowing form mirrors natural rhythms, evoking the serenity of traditional meditation halls. Fabricated through 3D printing with recycled plastic, the pavilion bridges ancient wisdom with contemporary sustainability, offering a sanctuary where users can reconnect with both self and environment.
